What we’re going to focus on today are vocabulary expressions. We’re looking at the word ‘easy’ and how to say something is easy or how to say things are easy to do in English.

I’m going to go through these expressions one by one and hopefully give you some working examples to show you how to use them.
The first one is
a walk in the park
Meaning: really really easy, no effort to it at all
A walk in the park is very easy because you’re just strolling around enjoying the fresh air. You don’t have to do anything strenuous, it’s not a marathon.
Example:
The test was a walk in the park. The questions were so easy, I definitely answered them all correctly.
it’s a breeze
Meaning: very easy, without difficulty
A breeze is a very light wind, it’s not a thunderstorm.
Example:
👩🏼🦰 Will you have any problems doing that?
🧔🏽 Not at all, it’s a breeze, I’ve done it time and time again.

it’s not rocket science
You’re probably familiar with this one.
Meaning: something that is easy to do or understand; it’s doesn’t need a degree in science to do it
Example:
What are you waiting for? Just read the instructions, it’s not rocket science.
The question I often ask, well, what is rocket science?
Nobody has ever explained to me what rocket science actually is!
The next idiom is, I’m sure you’ve all heard of it
it’s a piece of cake
Meaning: something is very easy
It’s very easy to slice and eat a piece of cake.
Examples:
This job was really a piece of cake, it didn’t take me long at all.
Assembling the Ikea bookcase was really a piece of cake once I’ve read the instructions.

Ways to say easy in English
I can do it in my sleep
Meaning: I can do it very easily
Example:
I’ve done it so many times, at this stage, I can do it in my sleep.
at the push/press of a button
Meaning: you can do it very easily
Example:
Before using this new software, I would spend days calling individuals to find out this information, now I can do it at the push of a button!
(as) easy as falling off a log
Meaning: the easiest thing to do
Example:
Running a marathon for a professional athlete is as easy as falling off a log.
Ways to say easy in English
it’s foolproof (idiotproof)
Meaning: so easy, even a fool can do it
Example:
These instructions are foolproof and clear; even beginners will have no trouble putting this together.
(hey) presto
Meaning: easily or quickly as if by magic
Example:
You put it together, then plug the cable in the wall and hey presto, everything works.
Ways to say easy in English
And the last expression is
easy peasy lemon squeezy
Meaning: extremely easy or simple
Example:
Improving English in my advanced language course is really easy. It’s easy peasy lemon squeezy.
