Important before you book
Two short rules that keep lessons running smoothly for you and your teacher.
Cancelling or changing a lesson
Please give at least 12 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change a lesson.
- With 12+ hours’ notice, the lesson can be rescheduled.
- With less than 12 hours’ notice, the lesson is charged.
- Email your teacher or contact us.
- Wait for confirmation that the cancellation has been received.
If you’re late
Your teacher will wait for a maximum of 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, the teacher will go offline and the lesson will be charged.
Frequently asked questions
How long is the free trial?
Around 15–20 minutes. It’s an introductory meeting rather than a full lesson. We’ll talk about your goals and what you need help with, then recommend the most suitable teacher and lesson plan.
Which platform do we use?
Your choice. Lessons can take place on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
How do I pay?
We send an invoice after your teacher and schedule are confirmed. You can pay securely through PayPal or Stripe. Students normally prepay for two weeks of lessons, but the payment arrangement is flexible.
Can I take General English lessons?
Yes. You can work on speaking, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and everyday English even if you don’t need English mainly for work.
Can you help me prepare for IELTS?
Yes. We have a former IELTS examiner on the teaching team and offer individual IELTS preparation lessons.
How often should I have lessons?
Regular lessons are more important than trying to fit in a lot of lessons for a short time. For most students, one or two lessons a week is a practical routine, with some English practice between lessons.
If you’re preparing for an exam, interview or presentation, you may want lessons more often for a period of time. The most important thing is consistency.
Do lesson packages expire?
No. If you buy a lesson package, it does not expire. You can use the lessons at a pace that works for you.
Can I get a refund for unused lessons?
No. Payments for lessons and lesson packages are non-refundable. If you need to change a lesson date, our 12-hour cancellation policy applies.
What if I need to cancel a lesson?
Please give at least 12 hours’ notice. With less than 12 hours’ notice, the lesson is charged. See the lesson policy above for full details.
