Meaning: something is so fantastic, so wonderful that words can’t really describe our feelings about it

Examples:

Wow, that meal was out of this world! It tasted so good.

The hotel that we stayed in on our honeymoon was out of this world.

Meaning: a shop doesn’t have a product(s) available to sell

Examples:

I’m really sorry, I’m afraid size 43 is currently out of stock.

This book is currently out of stock, it is due to be reprinted but not for several weeks.

Meaning: something is past its best and you can’t use it

Example:

This ticket is out of date. It was valid for two months from the date of purchase, unfortunately, the date has just expired.

Meaning: something has been revealed, or somebody’s got hold of the information

Example:

Once a secret was out of the box, it could never be put back in again. By that time the news has got around and everybody knows about it.

Meaning: a product is available for immediate use (also called off the shelf)

Example:

Our software is out-of-the-box ready, so your company can achieve results on day one.

Meaning: totally unexpected, totally against the ordinary events

Examples:
